1) i-MetrO is an online service for finding routes in the public transportation systems in a large number of cities worldwide. The access to the service is provided free of charge within the limits of the present terms and conditions, which you MUST READ AND ACCEPT WITHOUT RESERVE before use.

2) i-MetrO and all its parts, including and without limitation, the programs, accompanying data (including the transportation networks information), documentation and graphical elements (thereafter referred as the "PRODUCT") are the exclusive property of Patrice BERNARD & FRANK VAN CAENEGEM (thereafter named the "AUTHORS").

The product is protected by french copyright law and international treaties related to intellectual property protection.

The present terms and conditions DO NOT include, explicitly or implicitly, any ownership transfer of the "AUTHORS" rights on the "PRODUCT" or any of its part.

3) a) The i-MetrO service is provided free of charge to any person with an access to the internet network through one of the supported means of access: world wide web, wap, i-mode, for "fair" and personal use. "Fair" use is restricted to informational purposes and within the limits of the navigation offered by the service. "Fair" use excludes, without limitation, collecting data or changing data and URLs, in particular for the purpose of disrupting the service or getting access to confidential information.

b) i-MetrO is also available to other web services providers. These providers must first obtain a written (e-mail) authorization from the "AUTHORS" to include the "PRODUCT" in their own service.

i-MetrO may then be integrated in an external service, provided that a) its use remains entirely free of charge for the end user, b) no revenue may be derived, directly or indirectly from the integration (this restriction also covers, without limitation, using advertisement along with the "PRODUCT"), c) the "AUTHORS" are visibly credited and the actual origin of i-MetrO is clearly stated, d) the purpose of the service remains exclusively that of personal information on the public transport network and e) the present terms and conditions are enforced and are easily accessible to the end user.

Even when integrated in another service, the "PRODUCT" must remained identified under the name "i-MetrO" or "i-Métro". The use of all the "PRODUCT" components, such as logos or icons, is permitted, in the exclusive context of the "PRODUCT". The graphical elements may be modified (for better visual integration) provided they remain easily identified by the end user to the original visual identity. Any work derived from the "PRODUCT" for such purposes automatically becomes the property of the "AUTHORS".

c) You may NOT: (a) reverse-engineer any file included in the "PRODUCT" or the results provided by the "PRODUCT"; (b) modify or adapt the "PRODUCT" or any portion thereof; (c) copy or use any portion of the "PRODUCT" for any commercial purpose; (d) sell, rent or lease your rights to the "PRODUCT"; (e) more generally, derive a material benefit from any use of the "PRODUCT"; (f) remove or alter any logo, copyright or proprietary notice in or associated with the "PRODUCT"; (g) create derivative works based upon the "PRODUCT" or any part thereof.

4) i-MetrO is provided "as is" and with no warranty of any kind. The "AUTHORS" cannot be held responsible nor liable for any damage, direct or indirect, resulting from its use or inability to use, including, without limitation, in case of erroneous information or service unavailability for whatever reason (network problems, server shutdown, software anomaly...).

5) The "AUTHORS" reserve the right, at any time, without notice and without justification, to prohibit access by any available mean to the users whom the "AUTHORS" consider do not respect the present terms and conditions.

6) By using i-MetrO, you aknowledge that you have read, understood and accept to be bound by, the present terms and conditions.

If you do not agree to the present terms and conditions, you MUST NOT use the i-MetrO service.

Some of the previous conditions may not be applicable in all countries. If you access the service from a country where any of these terms and conditions is not applicable, you MUST NOT use the i-MetrO service.

7) The present terms and conditions were originally written in french. In case of contradiction between the different language versions, the french version will always prevail.

The authors are taking issues about privacy very seriously. Using the i-MetrO service is entirely anonymous and no personal data is recorded for any commercial purpose.

However, for technical reasons exclusively related to service usage statistics, our servers record information about your navigation, including, among other data, your queries and your browser IP address.

The i-MetrO service may also use a cookie to ease your navigation, for example allowing to automatically return to the last city you used. This cookie does not record any personal information. Besides, it is not required in order to use the service and you may deactivate the cookies in your browser, without incidence on your access to the service.

The i-MetrO service offres advertisement, allowing the authors to cover part of the costs involved in running the site.

For this purpose, we use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
